The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will take you to Amsterdam, as well as many other places. You will visit the capital of the Netherlands in both campaign and multiplayer. One of the multiplayer maps at the same time takes place in a luxury hotelwhich is really located in the center of Amsterdam. Specifically, this is a luxury hotel Conservatorium, which in the game is called Breenbergh.
Despite the different name, it is clear that the developers used the image of a real hotel when creating this building and the aforementioned multiplayer map. This fact did not escape the attention of its leaders, who I do not like the presence and display of the hotel in the game. Conservatorium hotel manager Roy Thomassen said in a statement to de Volksran magazine that the game does not represent their core values in any way and regrets the hotel’s unwelcome yet obvious involvement in the game.
Thomassen added that they do not support games that depict and encourage violence. The management of the hotel, according to him, is currently considering what steps to take next. At the same time, it follows from the statement that lawsuits against the display of the hotel in the game are not ruled out.
