Yes, we have It Takes Two, but there isn’t much else. I miss games about legendary heroes, stealth adventures or, for example, larger RPGs that aren’t necessarily MMOs. Consequently I’m very happy for Gotham Knights. Not only is it similar to the Batman: Arhkam series, but in many ways uses the opportunity of cooperation to such a good extentthat it won’t hurt the game if you’re playing it alone, but at the same time brings enough small things to get the most out of your online game. But you can’t pull the burden of the whole game on the cooperative mechanics. While in some ways the game delivers a great experience, in other ways it feels very dated.
Gotham Knights is an open world action game., which makes it possible to go through the entire game together. Except for about an hour intro. The team is responsible for the game WB Montreal, who created the spin-off of the Arkham series – Batman: Arkham Origins.. But this game does not follow the events of any other game and stands on its own. Which, in the end, is a very smart decision, because it can bring a similar experience, world and characters, but at the same time change everything at will.
This particular vision of Gotham is more grounded in reality, and thanks to the newly reunited Bat family, it’s slowly presenting everything in a way that even players who haven’t been kissed by this world can be hooked. Gotham is no longer a surreal and highly artistic city, but rather just a truly corrupt city that, this time, resembles New York more than ever. The villains this time are more like real people thanks to deeper development, and our heroes Batgirl, Little Red Riding Hood, Robin and Nightwing they are no longer henchmen, but leading heroes. First of all, they are so well written and acted that you will feel like they are real people who are just trying to help solve Batman’s latest case, learn how to function in the adult world, and at the same time solve their own personal problems.
