Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, like its predecessors, had an open beta for all players, during which it showed those interested in the great potential of the multiplayer component. Some people liked this aspect more, some less. It was annoying to a certain extent in the community that there were no red dots to indicate gunfire, but it wasn’t an issue that bothered everyone too much. The TPS mode was worse, as switching in aiming was quite distracting. Fortunately, the community didn’t keep quiet, they spoke out, and Infinity Ward decided to fix this aspect before the release to remove its problematic side.
According to the latest images posted by the Call of Duty Instagram account, the crosshair will only change when aiming down if you’re armed with a rifle that has an optic with more than 4x zoom. Good move, because in beta the game sent you into FP mode with any optic option, which was a little annoying. This aspect will be one that developers will want to change. A detailed list of possible changes for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has not yet been published.
