Blizzard is making progress with its developers problems revealed at launch Overwatch 2including game server instability and crashes, endless queues, and the inability to transfer progress and cosmetic items from the first Overwatch for many players. Game director Aaron Keller also tweeted that the game second DDoS attack yesterday.
“We’re making continuous progress on server issues and stability, and we’re working on a second DDoS attack,” Keller said on Twitter.
A few hours ago, the Blizzard team posted an update on the state of work on the official Overwatch 2 forums and confirmed that some issues have been brought under control. As explained in previous news, the developers decided to remove SMS protection for many users after recent discussions.
When it comes to queues, crashes, and server instability, the team claims they have it. fixed part of the problemsWhile many players will likely experience long wait times to access the game: “We’ve fixed some of the issues and are in the process of fixing others, but players should still expect to see some queues.”
Referring to the inability to transfer progress and cosmetic items from the first Overwatch, the team ensures that “no player data is deleted or lost.” The developers are aiming to release a server-side fix “no sooner than next week” to fix the issue, but some players should already see improvements to this issue as a bug with account merging has been fixed on some consoles.
Similarly, the developers confirm that some players may not be able to unlock new heroes and items because they are misidentified as “new players” by the game. In this case, it seems that logging in again is sufficient to fix the problem in most cases.
