V Rising, the vampire survival game from Stunlock Studios, will now allow players to plan and execute server cleanups with the release of patch 0.4.5, which also includes bug fixes and minor improvements.
Players will be able to schedule server cleanups on servers they own and manage. They will be optional and will not appear on the official V Rising PvP and PvE servers. Servers scheduled for an active purge will be displayed with a special icon in the server list so players can be notified of the pending purge before connecting. A screen showing the number of days left until the next wipe will also be added, and players will be able to filter their search to exclude or include servers with wipes enabled.
Only new servers created after patch 0.4.5 will be able to enable scheduled cleanup, and while V Rising won’t immediately enable official servers with cleanup support, Stunlock says it will open up official servers with cleanup functionality in the “near future.” . “. .
0.4.5 will also fix a bug that crashes servers when players use shields and directional counters, and will allow players to use DLC content such as Dracula Relic and Founder packs in LAN mode. On a slightly less technical note, the patch will also make V Rising’s clouds less blurry. Its not cute?
The update is available from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. CET, or from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. if you are on the East Coast of the United States. After that, the old unpatched version of the game will be incompatible with the updated servers, which means you will need to download version 0.4.5 to continue playing V Rising.
V Rising has long been rumored to have had server wipes that reset player skills and equipment and are designed to keep a small number of players from being overwhelmed, with the exception of newcomers, and the community of players is divided on whether they are needed. . .
“I don’t understand why this feature is so requested,” writes one of the V Rising players, Hipkie. in response to the 0.4.5 patch announcement. “Why play for three weeks building your castle and strengthening your presence, and then go back to the first level? The constant reboot is exhausting.”
“Server cleanup is a must for V Rising,” another player, CaterpillarFew4809, writes in a long-running Reddit thread. “I saw some people refund money because they were uploading to the server and couldn’t play because all the base slots were taken. If you have a place, great, but new players don’t even get a chance.”
Stunlock Studios has provided a link where players can give feedback on V Rising, its latest patch, and upcoming features.
