Last summer, the Polish studio 11 bit announced the continuation of the popular survival strategy Frostpunk. Once again, the action takes place in the chilling world of steampunk, but this time 30 years after the events of number one. That’s all we know for now, and there’s no new trailer yet. However, we learned a nugget of information thanks to a new video from AMD, where 11-bit studios CTO Szymon Jablonski describes cooperation with this equipment manufacturer.
The Polish studio has been using AMD technologies for a long time, even now that they are moving to Unreal Engine. Jablonsky says that this engine makes it very easy to implement FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 (FSR 2.0) technology. This is a popular feature that allows you to render an image at a lower resolution and then upscale it to a higher resolution with minimal quality loss. In addition, FSR 2.0 will appear not only in Frostpunk 2, but also in other projects from 11 bit. We already know that a custom title for The Alters is in the works.
In any case, we didn’t learn much about the game itself. Jablonsky only reiterated that this is a much larger and more ambitious project than the first Frostpunk. However, we may have to wait a while for details.
For now, Frostpunk 2 is only out on PC and you can add it to your wishlist on Steam.
