The re-release of the classic ’90s 4X game Master of Magic has a firm release date, and in the coming days you’ll be able to pick up the original as a free-to-play game from GOG. You have until October 2 to get your free copy of the original Master of Magic, while the Master of Magic reboot is out on December 13.
As we noted, when the new Master of Magic was introduced last year, wargame publisher Slitherine acquired the rights to the series from Atari in 2019. Since then, the company has been working with independent developer MuHa Games to release a remastered version of the 1994 classic.
Head over to the GOG.com giveaways page to claim your free copy of Master of Magic Classic. You’ll want to do this as soon as possible because the giveaway will only last until October 2nd.
Like the original, the new Master of Magic will feature 14 races to choose from, over 200 spells and unit types, and a wide range of special abilities to use in your quest for wizarding world domination.
