On paper, Skyrim mods are supposed to help you escape the grind of everyday life and enter the fantasy gaming world of Bethesda’s iconic RPG, and if I told you there’s now a mod that would allows you to escape work from 9 to 5 on the computer? Tamriel accepts a monotonous office job.
Well, Kp40az’s new 9 to 5 Office Job Mod is out now and it allows you to play a fantastic RPG game while sitting at your desk all day. There’s a working payroll system, the ability to ask for a raise, and a little mini-game to keep you busy during working hours.
At least he doesn’t have time to travel because Kp40az says that “they forgot to remove the teleport function, so when you activate this mod, you will be teleported to the office”.
The office is inside the Drunken Hunter Tavern in Whiterun, where Olfina can give you a job if you talk to her. You can only work from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, for the sake of realism, because the small office is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Basically, you will be sitting at a table with a book where you will be shown a sequence of words that you must memorize and answer in order. You will then receive stacks of books that can be exchanged at the end of the week for payroll.
Player reaction to this mod for Skyrim has been positive, with many finding the mundane nature of the change amusing. “This is what I never thought I would say: I really don’t want this deep dive…” one player said. “Finally the perfect mod to play after getting home from 9am to 5pm,” adds another.
