The Xbox has been under fire from PlayStation for some time over Microsoft’s offer to buy Activision for $70 billion. One of the fears of a well-known player who has the God of War or The Last of Us brands under his heel is the fact that he may lose the opportunity to present representatives of the popular Call of Duty FPS series on his console. This alternative was completely ruled out in an interview with CNBC by Phil Spencer, who again said that Microsoft plans to release CoD on the PlayStation as well. Among other things, he also noted that the priority for his company is the players and the desire to bring their games to as many interested parties as possible. And that’s why fans of the rival console can look forward to the fact that new parts of Call of Duty will still be available to them.
As a prime example of a game that is completely under the heel of Microsoft and can be found anywhere, Phil Spencer mentions Minecraft. It can also be found on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Of course, time can change a lot. However, I wouldn’t count on Call of Duty disappearing from the PlayStation menu. It’s such a strong brand that it’s not profitable to be completely tied to one device, and I think Microsoft understands this very well.
And what do you think? What do you think is the future of this series?
