Ubisoft recently launched a five-year plan to improve the work environment for its employees. And, apparently, he had good reasons for this. According to an insider, some of its developers do not want to participate in the development of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Red. According to them, the reason is relatively simple. They allege that creative director Jonathan Dumont is abusing his position, which has led several creators to directly ask to be transferred to other projects. Dumont has had problems in this regard in the past, when allegations were made against him that he insulted his subordinates and even made sexual proposals to some female colleagues. After all, it probably wouldn’t be such a big surprise if the current situation wasn’t just a whisper but a reality.
One of the creators, who did not want to be named, told TheGamer that Dumont is the cause of a number of exits from the studio, in which he creates an atmosphere of fear. As a contributor to Ubisoft’s A Better initiative, he even detailed the issue as follows: “Whether it was because of sexual suggestions, humiliation, fear of him, or because they saw him behave when he was in a bad mood. His outbursts created an atmosphere of fear in the studio that had been known for years and against which no action was taken for a long time.

The gaming site decided to dig deeper and asked the company’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, to make a statement. He issued this statement: “Ubisoft takes all allegations very seriously. While I cannot comment on specific cases, I can assure you that every team member mentioned in the notice that remains with Ubisoft has been thoroughly investigated and either acquitted or given appropriate disciplinary action and an individual action plan to support and monitor their progress. “. I hope they are right about Ubisoft’s leadership, because more than one title has already exhausted the working environment, and having a responsible person creating such an atmosphere is not exactly an ideal choice.
