Part of the inspiration for Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s parkour system came from developer Ubisoft Bordeaux, and it looks like Assassin’s Creed Unity’s beloved parkour is influencing the upcoming stealth game.

The Arab Hardware website interviewed Assassin’s Creed Mirage lead producer Fabian Salomon, who talked about some of the returning mechanics from previous installments in the series, as well as games that are also influencing Mirage’s direction. It should also be noted that the following questions and answers have been automatically translated from Arabic to Spanish.

“Regarding the parkour system, can we say that you will bring back the parkour we saw in Assassin’s Creed Unity, which provided the best parkour system in the series so far?” asked Arab Hardware.

“That’s really our absolute goal, we’re seriously trying to get to that level with Mirage, and since Baghdad is, as I mentioned, dense, we want players to enjoy their time in the city with parkour, which was and still is one of the important pillars, which we depended on for the style of play with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, “said Saloman.

Unity isn’t the only game that inspired Assassin’s Creed Mirage, as Saloman revealed how the new game will bring back Assassin’s Creed 2 and Brotherhood assassination contracts.

Following its announcement, Ubisoft confirmed that there would be no Assassin’s Creed Mirage microtransactions, after the store listing said the game featured “real gameplay”.

“Following the announcement of Assassin’s Creed Mirage during Ubisoft Forward, some store pages erroneously displayed the ESRB Adults Only pre-order game,” writes Ubisoft. “While Assassin’s Creed Mirage is still under review, Ubisoft would like to assure players that there are no actual game boxes or loot in the game.”
