The trump card of AI in most card games is randomness. The writers of the single-player Vault of the Void keep this element to an absolute minimum, instead making progress planning a priority, which is because the game shows you a bit of what’s in store for you right from the start. Therefore, you can perfectly prepare for what will meet you in the next few minutes. However, neither knowing the enemy nor knowing how to prepare can automatically mean that you will win the next fight. Also, the deck form itself will only cost you, so it shouldn’t be impossible to win even with a set that might not stand a chance at first glance.
An interesting aspect of the overall gameplay should be the ability to edit maps. Each card can be redefined, so you can get the most out of it for a given situation. Vault of the Void has been in Early Access for two years now. The full release date is set for October 4, 2022, when the game launches on PC.
Started working on Vault of the Void in 2018, digging into @YoYoGames Gamemaker for fun.
Ended up in early access in 2020, after 12 months of beta testing.
Now that over 700,000 players have passed, the Vault will leave Early Access on October 4th! https://t.co/uHoX0DQVK0#individual
