While we’re still waiting for the remastered version of the update map and some upcoming additions in Season 2, Battlefield 2042 update 2.0.1 will be released on September 13 and will bring some minor changes to the multiplayer experience. This hotfix fixes some minor issues that recently surfaced, including Specialist Pike’s ability to spot enemies with the EMG-X scanner.
Battlefield 2042 patch 2.0.1 fixes Pyke’s scanner so that his images no longer extend beyond the ability’s range, which was set to 25 yards in the last patch. EA/DICE has also made another adjustment to the availability of the “Location Reveal” notification, reducing it to 0.3 seconds to reduce its impact on gameplay. The study says that players reported the length of the review to be intrusive relative to their previous length.
Pike’s EMG-X Scanner device pinpoints the location of enemy soldiers, even if they are hiding behind walls or solid objects.
The patch also brings other minor changes. You should no longer see weapon movement when firing the new Avancy or AM40 after switching secondary weapons. Fixed red containers sliding around inside the ship on the new Stranded map, and fixed the issue that caused the “Interact” button to be triggered repeatedly, meaning you won’t have situations where you go out and immediately respawn on the car unexpectedly.
Update 2.0.1 should be available 1:00am PT / 4:00am ET / 9:00am BST September 13.
