Mobile games don’t always work on PC – like Little Orpheus – INDIAN

Mobile games have become incredibly popular in recent years, so today it sometimes happens that a PC game is not translated into Cell Phones, but it’s exactly the opposite. Today we will look at one of these. Little Orpheus was created as a game for phones, which has now reached our computers. Her interesting structure and the fact that the gameplay is adapted to small devices, of course, did not make the task easier for the creators. And this, unfortunately, is reflected in the final product.

Little Orpheus is a classic. 2.5D jumper similar to Limbo or Inside. It’s just a lot more colorful. As a Russian explorer, you are on a journey to the center of the country in a stolen government car. The whole story is told in retrospect when main character interrogated and tells what really happened on her way. This is an interesting idea, because during the game you listen to this interrogation, and along with your character. serves as a storytellerwhich constantly describes what is happening on the screen.

However, there is nothing innovative about this. The narrator doesn’t dynamically react to your actions (like when you move the box) but only starts talking when you reach the part where there is basically an invisible trigger that triggers other parts of the dialogue. If you get stuck like this sometimes, the narrator will just wait and wait.

In addition, the plot retains the structure of the original mobile game, which was divided into ca. twenty minute chapters, with a trailer for the next one at the end of each. This is a rather strange format that did not suit me personally, and I thought that breaks the flow story. Perhaps, on the contrary, you will like and like this structure. On a phone this will definitely work fine, but here I am a bit confused.
