The recent Genshin Impact leak provided something of a preview of a major event in Mondstadt that is supposed to happen in the next big RPG update, Genshin Impact 3.1. It looks like the event will be called “Ballads and Beer” and will feature a series of mini-games centered around the wildlife and culinary specialties of Mondstadt. Given his name, it’s no surprise that Venty, the often-drunk bard, also makes an appearance.
This leak comes from the BLANK Discord server and contains a series of screenshots showing the in-game interface for the aforementioned minigames, as well as other elements of the events. BLANK is a well known Genshin member with a pretty good track record having almost 20,000 people joining his server. If you don’t want to join a server or search for images once there, all 13 screenshots from this particular leak can be found on Reddit.
The most prominent UI elements that appear in the images are related to stealth and animal capture in Mondstadt. The stealth gameplay is likely to be exactly the same as Inazuma Ritou’s early missions, and catching animals is like using the ubiquitous net when you want to add more wildlife to the Serenity Pot. Animals have awareness indicators on their heads, and that’s where stealth comes into play.
While this game mode may sound familiar, the screenshots also show featured NPCs dealing with food and alcohol. This could be another Xiangling situation where players are tasked with finding animals to cook with, a hypothesis that seems even more likely given that all the animals featured are used as ingredients (boars, birds, etc.).
Those more interested in the 3.1 character banners may be pleased to learn that Mondstadters Venti and Eula are planning five-star reruns, while Kino, Neelow, and Candace are set to make their first appearances as the game unfolds. Sumeru’s list is growing.
