Crusader Kings 3: Friends and Foes is a new event pack for the medieval strategy game Paradox, featuring more complex relationships between your friends, enemies, and lovers, as well as new player-driven stories and a free weekend in September. . . The new DLC for Crusader Kings 3 is now available on Steam.
Friends and Foes features a variety of events centered around the various social dynamics and relationships that Crusader Kings 3 forces you to manage. Although you can create a lasting legendary friendship, new events can now cause that friend to turn their back on you. Rivals will appear in court trying to block or strangle your ruler and plotting against you in the background. It’s the same with courtiers: treat them unfairly and they may try to strengthen their position through various in-game events or at least undermine your rule. Meanwhile, lovers demand more attention than ever, but are more likely to deliver benefits and achievement.
Crusader Kings 3: Friends and Foes features over 100 new events, all triggered by various player interactions, with the goal of putting you into the mind of a suspicious but ultimately socially strategic medieval ruler. The drama and interactions between the king, queen, and various court luminaries have always been at the center of feudal drama, with manipulative, machinist characters like Game of Thrones’ Petyr Baelish embodying the dangerous power plays of the time. Crusader Kings, perhaps the most famous Paradox series, has always tried to emulate this, especially in Friends and Enemies.
If you want to try it, it is already available on Steam. Alternatively, if you’re new to Crusader Kings 3 and want to try out their strategies before buying in bulk, Paradox is hosting a free weekend from September 8-12 where the full CK3 base game will be available to play for free.
