Probably just like you, we at the editorial office are looking forward to what else CD Projekt RED will come up with as part of Cyberpunk 2077. It took the writers an incredibly long time, and while we’re among the defenders who enjoyed the game, we fully understand the angry players who didn’t enjoy the game very much. Therefore, it is probably correct that the Polish studio took more time to expand. And although this is a teaser that the developers presented yesterday, it certainly did not disappoint in terms of quality.
This is an opportunity for CD Projekt RED to show us that Cyberpunk 2077 is the brilliant game that Polish creators dreamed of. Let’s look at theories.
NEW CHARACTERS AND UNKNOWN SURROUNDINGS
Obviously, a new area will appear in the game, which should include a lot of new quests. Because the extension will carry in the style of a spy thriller, we certainly expect a change in mission design. The new characters should freshen up Night City, and the especially mysterious character that V makes an oath to at the beginning of the video looks like someone with a big and dangerous plan.
WHEN DOES Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Happen?
This is probably the biggest nut to crack, and it’s hard to tell from the teaser. So the following phrases are just our guesses, but we think it will happen right after the end of the game. What doesn’t work for you because of the different endings? We have an interesting theory.
The image above shows a distinct “V” instead of Johnny! Our theory is that if you have a story that ends with “V” leaving his body, sooner or later he will go back into the data stream and contact Johnny. Or vice versa! After obtaining V’s body, Johnny forms a bond with “V” who is stuck with Alt in the data reality.
This is a detail. But we rather want to point out that it is quite possible to screw up the end of the game and continue. Well, I myself love this theory because I personally don’t like expansions that throw you BEFORE the final event. When do you think the expansion happens on the timeline?
KEANU REEVES IS RETURNING
We were very afraid that after this fiasco, the character of Johnny Silverhand would never appear again on the old generation of consoles. And, fortunately, the opposite is true. While CD Projekt RED ending support for PS4 and Xbox One permanently (and that’s a good thing, after all that’s happened!) so they can focus on current-gen tech and hopefully provide a better experience for all players. The important thing is that we get to see Johnny Silverhand, no matter how they place him in history.
IMPROVED WEAPON
The footage also looks like we’re getting a laser lasso! And it will be fun. We hope this will be a replica of the laser lasso that already looked like the Mono Wire in the original game, but now it will obviously be a graphic that looks more like a lasso than a Mono Wire!
Whatever the truth of our theories, it is clear that CD Projekt RED is indeed not idle. Do you have another theory? Write yours in the comments!
The expansion is slated to release sometime in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You can find more information about the Edgerunners update that was released yesterday for the game in our article.
