In the latest addition to the popular MMORPG, Dragonflight Priest’s WoW talent trees have been overhauled. As with any game with a large multiplayer community, content needs to be carefully calibrated so as not to break content, destabilize PvP, or make some classes perform better than others. Blizzard regularly posts on the forums in response to feedback from various classes, and this time it’s Priests. Let’s review your comments.
The base class tree doesn’t exactly match your view of how the new base trees work. The idea is that the main tree will provide a certain name of options and useful skills for all specializations, but currently the tree is surcharged with talents of “passe” – des capacités que augmentent passivement les soins ou les dégâts de class. To combat this, they’ve added useful new talents to the main tree: Angelic Bastion, a self-defense that kicks in when your health drops below 30%; Void Shift, which allows the priest to trade his health percentage with another player; and Holy Word: Life, an emergency heal that works best when the target is low on health.
The Holy Tree will receive three new talents: Prayers of Restoration, which gives Prayer of Repair a chance to cast HoT; A harmonious device that adds synergy between different skills; and Vigorous Letany, which grants the Power Infusion buff.
In the discipline tree, Blizzard wants to improve the lack of “cohesion” in the tree. They will also introduce Redemption, which increases the damage of Mind Blast and Shadow Word: Death; Aegis of Wrath, which improves Power Word: Shield; and Divine Aegis, which makes critical heals apply a shield.
Finally, the shade tree. This tree will receive the most changes of the three, including the introduction of new Dark Void talents, AoE that apply DoT; and Pain of Death, which causes Shadow Word: Death to deal area damage to those who received the specified DoT. Searing Nightmare will also be removed, as it is considered too dominant in Priest’s AoE toolbox.
