Youtuber Silent has released a video showing off her makeup work. Silent Hill 2 inside unreal engine 5to use original sources. Of course this is amateur work and we don’t know when or if it will come to fruition, but in the meantime it’s a beautiful sight and another sign of many people’s love for the series, it has definitely been mistreated by Konami in recent years. .

Basically, Silent exported assets from Silent Hill 2 and used them to render a few scenes in Unreal Engine 5. Its aim is to push the boundaries of the original using a modern game engine.

To develop the original textures, Silent used techniques based on:artificial intelligence. It also brought ray-traced reflections, dynamic shadows, and an advanced lighting system to the game. Finally, it chose to give players the option to choose between first and third person view.

The result is very similar to the original, so much that when you look at it, a ‘remastered edition. As always, it’s fair to compliment this fan for their dedication, but it’s also kind of fair to think there’s no legal way to play the old Silent Hill on modern platforms. There has been talk of new projects related to the series for a while, but nothing is known for sure at the moment.
