Wolfenstein, the classic PC first-person shooter from the makers of Doom id Software that got a recent reboot thanks to Skyrim, Fallout, and Starfield developer and publisher Bethesda, has a brilliant hidden Easter egg cameo in the upcoming game. Goat Simulator 3 sandbox, as seen by PCGamesN on Igamer 2022.
Goat Simulator 3 (not Goat Simulator 2 here) promises a massive open world, four-player cooperative gameplay, and the ability to customize your favorite ungulate to your mischievous, beating heart. Scheduled for release on November 17th, expect more of the insane, devastating mayhem that made the original such a huge hit, along with plenty of Easter eggs and nods to other games.
The best thing we saw during the game’s demo at Gamescom 2022, however, was teaming up with a bunch of other goats to raid the home of a seemingly harmless old lady. Bursting into the basement, we are suddenly faced with a familiar yet unexpected sight as Goat Simulator 3 winds through the vibrant, pixelated corridors of the classic 1992 first-person shooter Wolfenstein 3D. The music changes, the size of the levels transforms, making us feel as if we are walking through those nostalgic corridors with the Wolf3D engine; for a moment it feels like we’re back in the early days of modern PC shooters, except you know, the goat.
But then the supposedly loving grandma turns out to be an angry, cackling boss who shoots at us with a cannon that shoots balls of cartoon yarn. After some clever goat maneuvering, she is defeated and voila, she is now playable as a retired goat. In fact, Goat Simulator 3 is a sandbox game that keeps on giving if you want to be given oddities and goats.
