The League of Legends 12.16 patch is just around the corner, and the first changes specifically aimed at shaping the LoL Worlds 2022 meta are finally here. On the inside Last updateSome of the most popular (read: outdated) picks in professional gaming are getting a splash of love, while those struggling to make an impact are getting a bit more love.

While champions like Zeri and Yuumi have lowered their win rate in the League ladder, this accolade has made them a constant and menacing presence in professional play around the world. According to balance team leader Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison, the duo will be hit with a nerf hammer alongside Draven and Poppy.

There are still plenty of champions up for grabs in this slightly leaner patch, which Riot says it expects the last LoL Worlds teams to qualify before “more speculative changes” at 12:17. They are Caitlyn, Irelia, Jayce, Kai’Sa, Malphite, Tristana, Zoe and Zyra.

Meanwhile, Diana undergoes a power shift. According to Riot, Scorn of the Moon will deviate from the current tank-like build path with the Sunfire Aegis and return to traditional AP build paths. Finally, on the front of the item, Evenshroud will only be affected in this patch.

While many fans are hoping the changes to League’s most notorious champions, Zeri and Yuumi, will get them back on the right track, we wonder if these changes will be enough to make a big difference to their game speed.
