THQ Nordic’s Digital Showcase announced in 2022 alone in the darkre-imagining the original trilogy of the homonymous series. Scheduled for the game PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S on an as yet undisclosed date. You can see the trailer above.
There official statement writes: “Return to Derceto Mansion in this reimagining of Alone in the Dark, a love letter to the classic cult horror game from the 1990s. After learning that her uncle is missing, Emily Hartwood goes looking for him with the help of “Private.” Detective Edward Carnby. When they arrive at Derceto Mansion, home to the mentally unstable, they encounter strange inhabitants, gateways to nightmarish worlds, dangerous monsters, and must finally stop their plan to summon evil.”
We can expect a messy game combat, puzzles, exploration and an original story Features characters, locations and themes from the original trilogy of the 1990s. In Alone in the Dark, we’ll be able to play as Edware or Emily, exploring Derceto’s story from two different perspectives, with different cutscenes and levels for the characters.
There Alone in the Dark story takes us to south america in a 1920s gothic setting. The setting is inspired by dark and Lovecraft’s terrifying elements. The story was created by Mkael Hedberg, author of SOMA and Amnesia.
