Domestic online stores began to send to customers PlayStation 5 pre-order email where it is they inform about the current state. JRC scared its customers, while Alza took it more diplomatically, writing that the console itself would continue to be very limited.

“The sale of individual PlayStation 5 consoles has been completely discontinued by Sony and we will no longer be receiving units,” the post reads. reports SIC.

“We are sorry that we cannot expedite the delivery of the item you pre-ordered. However, we have received information from Sony at this time that we will be provided discounted game console bundles with a selected Sony game, and that the game console itself will continue to be very limited in supply.” writes Alza in his email (thanks to Petar Plšek for the information provided).

Instead of the PS5 console itself, JRC offers package, the so-called bundle, with the game Horizon Forbidden West and the title of your choice for 15,890 CZK, or PS5 digitally with Aloy’s second adventure for CZK 11,790. Availability should be 17.08, 30.09 and throughout September.

The game of your choice can be Demon’s Souls, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, Returnal, Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, Gran Turismo 7 Standard Edition, or Horizon: Forbidden West.

Xzone is offering customers not only a CZK 14,990 game-of-choice package (PS5 disc version), but also kit with second DualSense controller, in the disc edition for CZK 15,290, and the digital version costs CZK 12,390. But apparently Xzone doesn’t know when the packages will be available.

PS5 IS INDEPENDENT UNTIL 2023?

We can’t find a standalone PS5 in either of those two stores. Only at the Central Control Commission, where he expects an edition with and without a Blu-ray drive only in 2023.. Otherwise number two in the consumer electronics market is the PS5 with Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 for CZK 15,890, or the PS5 Digital Edition with Horizon Forbidden West and a second DualSense controller for CZK 12,990.

Alza only says “we’re looking forward to” a standalone PS5, and as a novelty it’s talking about a PS5 with two games to be listed later for 15,890 CZK. In an email to Alza in more detail and offers three options: PS5 with Horizon Forbidden West and GT7 for CZK 15,890, PS5 with Horizon FW and second controller for CZK 15,890 or PS5 with Horizon FW for CZK 14,990.

“Due to the unavailability of the goods worldwide, we do not know a specific date for the warehousing of the goods. All PlayStation 5 pre-orders received are processed sequentially according to the date the pre-order was created and according to the availability of the respective regional version, with a limit of 1 per customer. As of 06/23/2022, we are no longer accepting pre-orders for standalone consoles. writes Alza on the site.

The situation is similar abroad, for example in the UK stores offer PS5 as a bundle, most often they have Horizon FW (possibly with Gran Turism 7 or a controller).

At the moment, we have not been able to receive an official response from the Czech representative office of Sony.

PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS

In early August this year, Sony representatives talked about how they are preparing for the Christmas season. Over the next few months, they want to bring more devices to the global market in order to complete the task: 18 million PS5s have been sold this fiscal year..

The issue remains the price.. Back in April of this year, Sony raised prices on most of its electronic devices in Japan, including cameras, Blu-ray players, home theater systems, headphones and speakers. they are to blame global problems in the semiconductor and raw materials market, as well as problems with logistics and factory operations, especially in China, which is still suffering from the pandemic. Now he adds to it inflation.

CFO Hiroki Totoki, when asked about a possible price increase, replied that he could not say anything concrete yet.

As of June 30, 2022, Sony shipped 21.7 million PlayStation 5 units to stores worldwide. In the first quarter of the fiscal year, it managed 2.4 million units, up 0.1 million from the same quarter a year ago, and 0.4 million more than the previous one. the quarter ending March 31, 2022. So Sony needs to ship 15.6 million units to the market over the remaining three quarters to meet its forecast.

The PlayStation 5 was released in November 2020 and retails for CZK 13,490 standard with a Blu-ray drive and CZK 10,790 digital. Unfortunately, immediately after its launch, the console became a scarce commodity that many tried to auction off; usually with a surcharge of several thousand crowns, in more extreme cases the price exceeded 30 thousand crowns.
