Summer is usually among the weaker periods in terms of the number of new games. But autumn makes up for everything. It’s the same this year, with a number of interesting games postponed until next year (Forspoken, Redfall or Starfield), but we still have a trip to Gotham, a slightly different French Revolution or a much-discussed remake ahead of us.
Of course, things can still change. But we can expect that there will be no more big moves, at most a few more specific dates will be added – for example, for Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales in the PC versions, for the cute 2.5D platformer Space Tail or Nightingale for survival.
In the article, we’ve mapped out September, October, and November, although technically, autumn extends even further (mother nature forgives). It is humanly impossible to cover all the games, so we set a limit of 20 games. Of course, the choice is a bit subjective (no other way), but there are no restrictions on additional tips in the discussion.
September 2022
The Last of Us Part I (PS5) – September 2, later on PC
Great storyline, cute main characters and a bunch of zombies. The first part of The Last of Us from Naughty Dog received a lot of praise, and in 2014 it was followed by a remaster, which still looks very solid. This year we will see a remake with even more significant graphical improvements or changed accessibility for players with disabilities. “Someday Soon After” should also be accompanied by a version for computers.
1428: Shadows over Silesia (PC) – September 6
The isometric adventure takes place in a Czech environment – as the name suggests, in 1428 during the Hussite campaign in Silesia. Against the backdrop of real events, we will solve various puzzles, fight, make decisions and sneak. The story will be told from the point of view of two main characters: the Hussite governor Heinck and the Joannite knight Lothar. The Czech dub is also confirmed.
Steelrising (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S) – September 8
It is sometimes said that the Spiders studio is getting better with every passing game. The previous Greedfall was a refreshing RPG, the new Steelrising should be more action-packed and with more challenging combat (but still with optional difficulty). It will take us to Paris during the French Revolution, where we will play as an automaton protecting Queen Marie Antoinette. Main enemy? King Louis XVI
Splatoon 3 (Switch) – September 9
The frantic, colorful action shooter should offer a better single-player experience than its predecessors, with a story arc called Return of the Mammals, adjustments to other modes, and new weapons and arenas. But then again, we can also expect multiplayer, the main goal of which is to “go crazy.” This time the hub will be Splatsville, located in the desert called Splatlands.
Deliver Us Mars (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – September 27
The continuation of the adventure game Deliver Us The Moon takes us, as intended, to the red planet with a story that takes place ten years after the first part. The main character is astronaut Katie Johanson, who is faced with nothing more than saving the dying planet Earth. Add to this the various mysteries, tensions and uneasy relationships between a young woman and her father.
FIFA 23 (PC, PS4, PS5, Legacy Edition Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – September 30
Another year and another part of the FIFA football series. This year, the creators promise novelties in the career mode, where, for example, you should evaluate whether you are a team player or a soloist. There will also be real coaches to choose from, such as Jurgen Klopp or Steven Gerrard. The new technology should make the running of football players more realistic. For the first time, women’s club football will be included in the series. And this is the last part from EA, which will be called FIFA.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R (PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – September 1
LEGO Brawls (PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – September 2nd.
Temtem (PC, PS5, Switch, Xbox Series X/S) – September 6
NBA 2K23 (PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – September 9
Wicked West (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – September 20
Soulstice (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S) – September 20
Hokko Life (PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – September 27
Valkyrie Elysium (PS4, PS5) – September 29, PC version – November 11.
October 2022
Overwatch 2 (PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – October 4
The free PvP part of the Overwatch 2 shooter will be released in October. Compared to the previous part, it brings something new in the form of a reduction in teams from six members to five, which required some adjustments to individual characters. The game supports crossplay so you can play it alternately on different devices, and promises to limit loot boxes. However, there are widespread concerns among fans about the pressure on microtransactions. We’ll have to wait a bit for the PvE event.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – October 7, rollover later
One of the titles that was postponed for the fall. The tactical RPG will feature several well-known comic book heroes from the Marvel world – Wolverine, Ghost Rider or even Spider-Man. We ourselves will be able to create a completely new superhero or superheroine called the Hunter, and there will be 40 different abilities to choose from. In addition to Marvel itself, the game is being developed by the Firaxis Games studio, known for several games in the Civilization or XCOM series.
A Plague Tale: Requiem (PC, PS5, Cloud Switch, Xbox Series X/S) – October 18
The sequel to the plague-soaked adventure game should offer what we’ve been used to since the first part of 2019. Rats, the powerful story of siblings Amicia and Hugo who are haunted by investigations, stealth, moral decision making, and rats. It is not necessary to kill every enemy, just as different problems have different solutions. Dark France is already waiting for you.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (Switch) – October 20
The turn-based strategy sequel from five years ago brings together the popular brands Mario and Rabbids again, but this time it should offer a modified combat system. Characters will move freely instead of squares even in real time, but combat will still be turn based. Each hero has special abilities that will need to be used at the right time.
Scorn (PC, Xbox Series X/S) – October 21
The dark horror from the Ebb Software studio with its design is strikingly reminiscent of the work of the master H. R. Giger (the creator of Alien, among other things). Everything is so slippery, animalistic, but at the same time “artificial”. In addition to the biomechanical styling, the game should offer up to ten hours of storytelling that will also be intertwined with various puzzles.
Gotham Knights (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X) – October 25
“A Batman Game Without Batman” introduces four heroes known from DC comics and emphasizes collaboration. At the same time, the creators promise that the soloists will also come to their senses. Set in the world after Batman’s (supposed) death, the title will give you the ability to strike as Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl or Robin. The main opponent will be the Owl Tribunal, a secret organization that controls the city of Gotham.
Bayonetta 3 (Switch) – October 28
The third part of the hack and slash game from PlatinumGames is a Switch exclusive. The protagonist will again be the witch Bayonetta with her various abilities and iconic appearance, who will have to face countless enemies and this time with the new weapon of the Homunculus. Along the way, he meets old friends, but we also meet a new witch, Viola. Series creator Hideki Kamiya again took part in the development of this work.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – October 28
The new Call of Duty, subtitled Modern Warfare 2, may seem a little confusing at first glance – after all, such a game once existed. However, the current installment of the action follows the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot. Members of the special unit Task Force 141 will return, but they will also be joined by new characters such as Colonel Alejandro Vargas. They will fight terrorists and drug cartels. The new part will also be released on Steam, where the Call of Duty series has been absent for a long time.

Nier: Automata The End of Yorha Edition (Switch) – October 6
No Man’s Sky (Switch) – October 7
Generations WRC (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – October 13
Persona 5 Royal (PC, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – October 21st
High on Life (PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X) – October 25
Resident Evil Village Gold Edition (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – October 28
November 2022
Harvestella (PC, Switch) – November 4
At the time of the trailer, it was already said that this game resembles a combination of Final Fantasy and Stardew Valley, or perhaps the cult game Harvest Moon. And that’s mostly true. On the one hand, we will cultivate the fields and fish, and on the other hand, we will also fight. Welcome to a fantasy world where the seasons change every thirty days. But beware the fifth season, full of death and decay.
Skull and Bones (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S) – November 8
In the new multiplayer title from Ubisoft, we will meet among the pirates driven by the wind, where, as an unknown sailor, we will try to become the most famous pirate in the area. The higher the bar, the more opportunities to go on different expeditions or customize your ship. More or less, it will be a live service game with new content to be added over time.
God of War Ragnarok (PS4, PS5) – November 9
The expected new part of the God of War series is in no hurry to announce a release date. Finally, in November of this year, we must search among the Norse gods. Kratos and Atreus will prepare for Ragnarok and in each of the nine worlds will try to find allies and answers to questions about the meaning of life and everything. And the enemies will also be killed. Lots of enemies. The mighty ax and blades will return, Kratos will explore his paternal inner self, and many players will be outraged by Thor with a slightly different stomach than we are used to from comic blockbusters.
Company of Heroes 3 (PC) – November 17
The next part of this real-time strategy this time will take us to the battlefields in Italy and North Africa during World War II and again emphasize the authenticity of the military environment. Whether it be weapons, uniforms or other details. It will consist of two campaigns with tanks, armored vehicles and ordinary soldiers. The game will allow you to control Rommel’s Afrika Korps units and play as the German side.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (Switch) – November 18
When the first more concrete information about the new parts of the long-running Pokémon series appeared in the media, it was not only fans who were fascinated by the creature named Lechonk. But the games will also bring other Pokémon and, above all, completely open worlds that should contain more natural parts as well as more populated ones. We will trade Pokémon with friends, fight and explore the environment regardless of the plot.
Pentiment (PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – sometime in November.
My personal favorite, but the only one on the list that doesn’t have a specific release date yet, so who knows where it will turn out. Obsidian’s new RPG takes place in 16th-century Bavaria and is a bit like Disco Elysium. We will play for the artist Andreas Mahler, who willy-nilly must become a detective. Expect quirky stylization reminiscent of medieval manuscripts, quirky humor, and some flare. All this from a team led by Josh Sawyer (Fallout: New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity).
Humanity (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – November 4
Goat Simulator 3 (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S) – November 17
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (PC) – November 30
