Eidos plans big Deus Ex comeback

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided since 2016 it turned out not the best. Gradually, we found out that it was not the developers who were to blame for the poor-quality game, but the Japanese publisher Square Enix, which systematically strangled its Western studios. Now a Canadian studio Eidos-Montreal belongs hug group and it looks like the Deus Ex brand has plans for a big comeback. The goal is to surpass Cyberpunk 2077 and succeed where the ambitious RPG from Polish CD Projekt RED failed.

According to well-known insider Jeff Grubb, discussions about a new Deus Ex in Eidos are in the early stages. The creators must make a decision to return to Deus Ex as soon as possible. They want to challenge Cyberpunk 2077 and do what Cyberpunk failed to do.

“It’s an idea that’s going around the studio right now. Let’s see if it works! It is too early to judge how this will turn out. But Square Enix wouldn’t have that kind of discussion at all, would it?” Grubb said on Game Mess Mornings.

In the last sentence, Grubb alludes to the sale of studios Eidos Montréal, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix Montréal, which even with brands such as Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, Thief and Legacy of Kain, for $300 million bought by the Swedish Embracer Group. The total acquisition includes approximately 1,100 employees across three studios and eight offices worldwide, as well as over 50 unspecified games from Square Enix’s back catalog. The transaction is expected to close no later than September 2022.

The new Deus Ex is not due out anytime soon, they have another project in development at Eidos, it’s a brand new brandreminiscent of the well-informed Jason Schreier on the ResetEra forum, saying that if there is a new Deus Ex, then we will be waiting for it for a very, very long time.

As you can see from the picture, over 12 million copies of the Deus Ex series have been sold since 2000. The game received an average of 83 percent of reviews. Paid mobile games Deus Ex: The Fall and Deus Ex: GO have been downloaded two million times.
