We are receiving more information that Sony has provided to Brazilian regulators in response to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Previously, Sony called Call of Duty an indispensable game, and Microsoft claimed that Activision Blizzard did not create anything unique.

From another statement it seems that Sony sees big problem with Xbox Game Pass. Over the past five years, it has grown and occupied about 60-70% of the global prepaid market. Brazil expects 70 to 80% of the PC subscription market, according to Sony.

The Japanese company believes that it will take several years to compete with Xbox Game Pass, even with significant investment. In addition, subscription services can compete with full-fledged games.

Sony also believes that subscription services can reduce the quality of games and thereby harm consumers. We’ve heard this before when we were told why the new PlayStation Plus plans won’t include games from PlayStation Studios on release day.

Ubisoft sees Game Pass as a positive consumer service that may create exclusive content not available on other platforms in the future.
