A few days ago, Capcom released its financial report for the first quarter of the current fiscal year ending June 30th. Now the list of so-called platinum games, that is, games that have sold more than 1 million copies, has also been updated.
First, nothing has changed, continues to rule Monster Hunter: World, which has a huge lead over all other games from Capcom, it already has 18.3 million units and is slowly attacking the 20 million mark.
Behind it is still Resident Evil 7, which over the past period has sold 200,000 copies and reached a total of 11 million.
Monster Hunter Rise moved up to third place. The original Switch exclusive, which also came to PC this year, has already sold 10.3 million copies.
However, it is immediately followed by Resident Evil 2, which has 9.8 million in platinum numbers, but we know from a recent report that it has already crossed the 10 million mark. So it looks like it’s slowly but surely catching up with Volume 7, which is currently the best-selling of the entire series.
Of course, Resident Evil Village is also worth mentioning. The latter sold 300,000 copies in the first quarter, for a total of 6.4 million. Interestingly, the Village lost the position of the best-selling part to the duo, who had a slightly weaker start, but subsequently gained more momentum, while Village sales tend to slow down.
Notably, Resident Evil Village is now behind Resident Evil 2 (2019) as the fastest selling RE game. After 5 blocks, each RE:2 is 6.6 million and Village is 6.4 million. (In the fourth quarter it was 6.1 million for Village and 5.8 million for RE:2). pic.twitter.com/4aHDkLQkaS
