Minecraft updates are usually an exciting time for players, but in reality, it was created entirely by artificial intelligence. This is not the first time we have seen AI used to play in a sandbox, but it is the first time AI has been used to create exciting and revolutionary new features.
SystemZee, who you might remember for their excellent ocean redesign, decided it would be fun to let the AI develop an update that they and their team would implement. After the simple first sentence of the video (below) at the workbench, things get a lot weirder.
While the Wishing Well, which gives players a random item when you throw an emerald, is great, our favorite is the Lava Bow, which fires an arrow that leaves blocks of lava behind. While that sounds fun, it’s actually an ultimate weapon that can accidentally destroy an entire area, as well as your computer, in seconds. Even if it’s beautiful. We all want to touch lava, right?
Oh, and the name of the update is Minecraft: World Domination. Try not to think too much about it, because it’s not a Freudian slip, but a declaration of intent, since that was also invented by the AI. The title is definitely tied to some of the weirdest and most devastating new additions in this bogus update. Also, if your toaster looks weird to you, it may be plotting against you.
In other update-related news, though official, Mojang is sticking with its new chat moderation tools despite some fan feedback.
