Outer Wilds, which was fully announced in 2021, gave us a bit more information on the Nintendo Switch version of the game after many delays.
This news came during Annpurna interactive showcase and is just Outer Wilds will launch the Nintendo Switch in the future, while the team is still working on it. No release date was given, however, and more news will be shared once they get their hands on it. However, the studio has announced that the game will be coming to Xbox Series X|S and PS5 on September 15.
The goal of Outer Wilds is to traverse a solar system and uncover its secrets, mysteries, and planets scattered across the stars. However, you only have 22 minutes to do so before the solar system is destroyed and you start over. The rogue-like gameplay is built with a solid set of physics, which means landing and traversing planets is no easy task, but you’ll discover more as each loop unfolds.
You can use the knowledge gained to solve deeper and more complex mysteries or visit entirely new areas of the solar system.
We’re late for an update on Switch! It’s a tough business, and you know how hard time dilation is in intense gravitational fields. Don’t worry, we’re working on it and we’ll let you know if we have anything good to report.

Upon its release in 2019, Outer Wilds quickly became an acclaimed indie darling, and the PC version of the game is currently ranked #85 on Metacritic. Fingers crossed that the Nintendo Switch port will work properly when it finally hits the system, but it looks like we’ve still got some loops until then.
