Developers from the Frogwares studio continue to develop games, despite the war in Ukraine, which lasts more than 5 months. The financial stability of the studio was helped, among other things, by a grant from Epic Games.
In May of this year, Frogwares announced that they were working on a new project, codenamed Palyanitsa. That’s when we found out what it’s about minor horror title, for which the studio at the moment should have enough human resources. On the contrary, another and much more ambitious project, planned earlier, has been postponed indefinitely.
Today, the developers showed that the name “Polyanitsa” is actually remake of Sherlock Holmes: Awakening. The original 2006 game combined the world of Sherlock Holmes with horror stories from Lovecraft’s Cthulhu universe.

The authors describe the upcoming new version as mrA worthy remake that boasts completely rewritten history. In particular, you will find the story of the young Sherlock Holmes and Watson, which will follow the title “Sherlock Holmes, Chapter One” from last year.
Simultaneously with the announcement of the game itself, the authors turned to the players and fans of the series for help. A crowdfunding campaign should be launched on Kickstarter soon, which the developers would like to use collected the missing money to complete the game. Development should be at an advanced stage, and according to the authors, they only need to secure the final parts of production.
An introductory trailer should accompany the early launch of the campaign. For now we have to make do with a few attached below images and concepts.
