Since the release of the current generation of consoles, the PlayStation 5 has had two fairly significant drawbacks compared to the Xbox Series: the lack of VRR support and 1440p resolution. The first mentioned feature appeared a few months ago, albeit to a limited extent. Works only through HDMI VRR, which is only available through HDMI 2.1 ports, which are not quite common yet. And now, about a year and three quarters after the release of the console, 1440p resolution finally arrives.
Sony made the announcement today on the PlayStation Blog, mentioning the news that will be available to beta testers starting today. Chief among them is support for 1440p, a resolution that is very common in monitors. Therefore, if you have this option enabled on your system and the game supports this resolution, it will display in 1440p. If it is displayed at an even higher resolution, you will of course benefit from better anti-aliasing, for example. But be careful permission 1440p will not support the already mentioned variable refresh rate feature., remains only for Full HD and 4K. We don’t know if this will change in the future.
However, there will be other news, such as better organization of your game library with lists, 3D and stereo comparison for better recognition of differences or easier access to actions.
As for social functions, it will increase. send voice messages, the ability to request a screen share during a call or notification of being added to a group in the game.
