Call of Duty: Warzone has finally brought its zombies back in a Season 4 mid-game update, launching today, July 27, and featuring a revamped Rise of the Dead mode, along with new rewards and cards. of skill.
Playing Rebirth of the Dead is like 2021’s Zombie Royale or Modern Warfare’s long-running Infected mode (which could return in MW 2, by the way). Ten teams of four start on Spawn Island, and at first it’s business as usual: gear up, work together, and destroy your opponents. The only problem is that everyone you kill now comes back as zombies and it’s your job to take out every living player on the map using extra abilities like charged jump.
Zombie players can be resurrected and returned as humans by finding antiviral canisters, which can be obtained by killing human operators, opening chests and buying stations, or by performing complicated zombie finishing moves. There’s another twist in the form of an “infestation meter” that gradually increases as the Operators kill the undead horde. Once it fills up, everyone who watches the match will return as zombies, giving the living, breathing, non-decaying human players another challenge to overcome.
As you may have guessed, winning a match of Rise of the Dead as a human is no small feat, hence the prestigious Last Man Standing calling card, which can only be earned by killing all the zombies and living to the end of the game. There’s also a Head Scratcher card that you can get by simply playing as a zombie and performing a finishing move on a human operator.
Rebirth of the Dead begins on July 27, although it is currently unknown how long it will last. In the meantime, he can take part in the upcoming Call of Duty League Championship, where he can win a free Modern Warfare 2 beta code.
