Civ 6’s Bermuda Triangle is a phenomenon unto itself, as it carries your naval units around the map and largely matches its mysterious real-life counterpart. However, the Reddit user and fan of Civ 6 Sereverse Socialism stumbled upon something even more rare and unique: the Bermuda Triangle, which is landlocked.
This nature simulation wonder isn’t what you’d expect from a regular Civ 6 game. Come to Sukritact’s Oceans, an expansive mod that completely changed the high seas of Civ 6 when it was first released in 2021. Oceans by Sukritact it adds rich marine biodiversity, from kelp forests to seals, but it also has a curious effect on coastal boundaries.
Normally, oceans cannot spawn near land. There should be a coastal buffer, but the Sukritact mod reduces the buffer requirement by allowing the ocean to collide directly with the land zones.
Considering what the Bermuda Triangle allows you to do, it’s no surprise that Firaxis’s unmodded 4X game doesn’t let them spawn, essentially like the lakes in Bermuda. Throw a unit into a triangular square and it will eventually move across the world map. There is some controversy over whether you spit out your armies at the same time each time or at different points in the game.
Either way, the advantage to whoever finds and uses the triangle is significant, so if you’re using Sukritakt Oceans, be sure to keep an eye out for Mysterious Pools to gain an additional advantage over your opponent.
Civ 6 may be half a decade old, but it still has a few surprises in store for players. Adjacent to the landlocked Bermuda Triangle, another recent discovery of a mysterious landmass has been discovered for which no one seems to have an explanation.
