Assassin’s Creed Rift is delayed until mid-2023, according to a new report by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg. Bloomberg sources told Bloomberg that Ubisoft secretly announced the delay during its recent earnings call, where it was said that a small, unannounced premium game would be delayed alongside the upcoming Avatar game. Ubisoft has neither confirmed nor denied this news to Bloomberg, so technically the delay is still a rumour.
The same goes for the Rift itself, though it’s one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming right now. Bloomberg previously reported that Assassin’s Creed Rift was originally developed as part of an expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla before Ubisoft decided to turn it into a standalone experience to fill a meager release schedule. More recent rumors suggest that Rift takes place in Baghdad. It’s clearly a far cry from Eivor’s exploits in Scandinavia and Britain, so it seems like the Rift has probably changed quite a bit already.
Schreier’s sources said that Rift is “way behind schedule” though Ubisoft still plans to reveal it, or was planning to, in September as part of a showcase for the future of the series.
Meanwhile, Schreier also said that Assassin’s Creed Infinity, an Assassin’s Creed live service game (also unannounced), is still in development but won’t release in 2022. This leaves Ubisoft with just one new PC game to release. In the second half. : Skull. and Os.
While the pirate game is very similar to Far Cry and Sea of Thieves, PCGamesN’s Chris Kapel left a mostly positive impression after a first detailed look at the slick saga, aside from the rather cluttered UI. .
However, Eivor’s journey was not over yet. The launch of the roguelite mode in Valhalla is planned for the end of 2022.
