On Thursday, we told you that Ubisoft announced the cancellation of four games and postponed two games in last quarter’s report. The first one was announced quite a while ago, it’s a first-person adventure game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. About the latter, the company only said that it is a “smaller premium title.” However, journalist Jason Schreier was quick to clarify in an article for Bloomberg magazine.

According to Schreier, citing sources close to Ubisoft, the second project is Assassin’s Creed Rift. A title that he first announced a few months ago. It is supposed to be a smaller, more linear game set in Baghdad and the main character should be Basim, who has already appeared in Valhalla. Initially, it was supposed to be an expansion for the part about the Vikings, but in the end, Rift became a standalone game. Schreyer writes in a new article that the title was originally supposed to be released in February next year, but the development was significantly delayed and we will finally see it only in the second quarter.

We will probably get an official announcement in September when there will be a special event focusing on the future of the Assassin’s Creed series.
