It’s that time of year again when EA Sports starts ramping up coverage for the next iteration of the football game. While FIFA 23 will be one of the last football games to use EA Sports’ FIFA name, it looks like EA Sports will come out with a bang thanks to an expired deal between the two companies. Why do we say this? New leaks suggest that a Fortnite-like collaboration between FIFA 23 and Marvel Comics is in the works thanks to the recently announced FIFA 23 FUT Heroes promotion.
Yes, we don’t know what to think either, but Fortnite gamification is alive and well – at least if this leak turns out to be true. After the official announcement of FIFA 23 by EA Sports, the Twitter userGuilty__XThey have shared an image online which they claim is from the official FIFA 23 website.
The image shared is one of the designs for the new FUT Hero cards and the FUT Heroes promotional logo with the FIFA 23 logo and the Marvel Comics logo side by side. The tweet also included a link to the FIFA 23 website – possibly as proof – but that image is no longer available. Now the link takes you to an image of the famous FIFA 23 cover teaser featuring Aussie celebrity Sam Kerr and PSG’s Kylian Mbappe.

However, until we know more and see something more substantial, it’s worth taking this with a grain of salt.
As for the hypothetical FUT Heroes Marvel Comics promotion, there’s been a lot of talk on the internet about what it might entail. Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends has appeared in FIFA 22 with a variety of cosmetic items available for a limited time. Among the cosmetics were things like stadium TIFOs and club shirts – things players could buy with FIFA Points or FIFA Coins.
While it’s not extreme to think that FIFA 23 might at some point feature Marvel Comics-inspired cosmetic items, the fact that this leak ties up the partnership with the previously announced FUT Heroes promotion has led many to believe that we, players, can we relate to one another. items as well. We may not see Captain America crashing down the left flank, but for promotion it’s recommended to recruit an Avengers-esque squad of real players with boosted stats.
Someone with “magical” feet like Christian Pulisic in Captain America, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in Black Panther, and Bernardo Silva in Doctor Strange seem like plausible contributions to this unlikely promotion. But time will tell if this leak is really true and if it will be limited to cosmetics.
