Forza Horizon 5’s Hot Wheels DLC Map Is Out Of This World

Hot Wheels’ next DLC map for Forza Horizon 5 has been revealed, and it’s arguably Playground Games’ most fantastic map to date. The Hot Wheels expansion for the racing game, available July 19, takes the action to the skies of Mexico, where three floating islands are connected by countless miles of twisting, floating Hot Wheels race tracks.

The map can be viewed on the official Forza Horizon Instagram page. It consists of three islands, each part of a circle, with a red plastic path connecting all three and meeting in the center. As you can see in the official trailers, the tracks not only connect the islands, but each one contains enough loops, twists, and jumps to rival a Trackmania track.

Each island is also a separate biome: there is a dense jungle island, a desert canyon, and a snow-covered volcanic biome. All of this, once again, takes place high up in the sky, so as you travel between and around the islands, you’ll be able to look down and see the clouds covering the land far below.

Playground Games says that the Series 10 update will launch alongside the Hot Wheels expansion on July 19, and whether you buy the DLC or not, there are plenty of updates and new developments waiting for you. Series 10 itself begins on July 21 and runs for four weeks, ending on August 17.

In the meantime, you’ll have the chance to unlock a new set of electric crossovers designed specifically for Extreme E cross-country racing, plus four classic Porsche cars to compete in the festival playlists and earn points.
