Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 come together in a new game for a fan-made sequel

Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, while they may seem similar, are actually far apart in Fallout’s extremely dense fictional timeline. The year is 2102, when the inhabitants of Vault 76 canonically defeat the Queen of the Burning Beasts, 185 years before the sole survivor of Fallout 4 sets out to hunt for her child throughout the Commonwealth. It’s hard to imagine what might have changed in the two centuries between the two games, but that’s precisely the goal of DeeZire, creator of the mod for Fallout sequel Fallout: Appalachia, who just got an hour of new gameplay footage. .

According to DeeZire, Appalachia is more than a quarter of the way there, using assets and textures from Fallout 4 to give it a more “modern” look, at least in the game’s timeline. No more debris in the streets, but clouds of radiation. and the dust storms seem to have dissipated, and the entire world seems at least a little more habitable than it was in 1976. northern and western regions, including Vault 51, the Tyler County Fairgrounds, Clancy Manor, and the old Vault 76 of the same name.

Although we only have the geography of the game at the moment, DeeZire anticipates that other modders will eventually add the narrative; In response to YouTube’s comment about the possibility of quests and quests, DeeZire says, “It’s a long-term goal. There’s a backstory that you can alter or ignore, including being sent to Appalachia to track down the origins of the Rusty Devils and stop its spread in the desert. But for now, it all starts with the world.

Development on Fallout: Appalachia began in 2019, but according to the game’s Discord channel, the world is now catching up to its size and will be released as a public demo soon. DeeZire also jokingly hints at a full release date, saying, “One thing is for sure, it will be done before Fallout 5 comes out.”

And there’s another fan-made Fallout sequel, Fallout: London, also in development, with a release date now set for 2023.
