Polyphony Digital’s iconic racing game franchise returns to PlayStation with Gran Turismo 7. With a Gran Turismo 7 roster of over 400 cars and over 60 tracks to race on, there’s plenty for everyone , and there are even movies from the 80s enthusiasts. Gran Turismo 7 fans think they saw a nod to Back To The Future’s Emmett Brown at the American Sunday Cup.
In one of Gran Turismo 7’s easiest events, the American Sunday Cup, players line up the starting grid with the 2004 Delorean DMC-12 – a later model of the iconic car made famous in Back to the Future. Robert Zemeckis. If you check the race standings at any point during the event, you’ll see that the Delorean in question is actually E. Brown.
Connecting the dots, Reddit user “MyMoonMyMan” shared a poster image showing it’s almost certainly a reference to the iconic Doc Brown played by Christopher Lloyd in the film series. Either that or just a coincidence.
We know Doc said we were going to “see some serious stuff” as he drove his Delorean at 88 mph, but we didn’t think we’d see him take him to the top of the track.
[Easter Egg] The DMC DeLorean driver in the American Sunday Cup is called E. Brown – a reference to Doc Emmett Brown, the scientist from Granturismo’s Back to the Future
You’ll always need roads wherever you go, but this fun easter egg is the first thing players see in the game. It features iconic cars like the 1964 Aston Martin DB5 driven by the famous James Bond and the famous 1969 Chevrolet Camaro driven by a yellow transformer who knows how many other Polyphony references have seeped into this game.
If you’re looking for a new set of wheels before heading to the American Sunday Cup, it might be worth revisiting Gran Turismo 7 microtransactions with our guide. Here’s also a list of legendary Gran Turismo 7 cars, but if you’re close to qualifying for the American Sunday Cup, we think you’re not ready yet.
