CD Projekt RED has announced exclusively via IGN’s server that Project Golden Nekker is becoming single player expansion for an online gwent called Gwent: An outcast mage.

At its core, it is somewhat a more condensed experience than the online version, with roguelike elements.

This means that you will explore a procedurally generated map, where you will find various interactions, but of course also card duels, in which you will use one of the four available decks, which you will gradually improve and expand.

If you then want to explore everything the title has to offer, you should set aside over 30 hours, but individual passages will offer much shorter sessions that can only last a few minutes. Depending on how well you manage to overcome the obstacles here.

In terms of plot, this is a prequel that tells the fate of the magician Alzur and his furious attempts to create the very first Witcher. However, the authors add that the plot will definitely not play a major role here. The gameplay here should be closer to the version from The Witcher 3 than to its more common online variant, although maps from it will be used here.

The extension is available from today at PC, Android and iOS.

Its price has been set at 9.99 euros (roughly 250 crowns) in the standard version, while the premium version will set you back 19.99 euros (500 crowns) which offers additional skins and cosmetic accessories.
