In the past, people have tried to do Minecraft stuff in real life, like recreating a Lego piston. But it’s unlikely you’ll ever be able to recreate redstone, a magical material capable of just about anything, and use it to craft devices and gadgets. Where?
Redditor Hecbac has been building these devices for over two years, with impressive results. Some of their early work involved things like dispensers, but they eventually moved on to making modular systems out of redstone. This makes it work like in the game.
Hecbac’s latest post shows a complete working circuit, a device that stops a very cute little sheep, starts a surprisingly powerful block and pistons. The end of the video also shows several blocks from previous videos, though we’re pretty sure TNT is just a building block. This is all very impressive, especially since Hecbac is doing it in his spare time.
The modular nature of Heblac’s designs could easily become a full set of toys, but they have also previously stated that monetization will rob them of the joy of creativity. By now, we all have to stare in awe at these Minecraft redstone creations and marvel at how intricate and impressive they become. As always, the craftsmanship of the Minecraft community continues to impress.
In other news, an amazing new adventure called Spellcraft was released yesterday, adding new enemies and a spell system. Even better, it’s free.
