This is what a Harkonnen captain looks like in an incredible Dune fan art signed by a surviving artist
The material isn’t official from the video game, but it does leave us an example of the talent behind Funcom’s development.

good times for fans sand dunes. Frank Herbert’s sci-fi novel has made a big comeback to the big screen at the hands of Dennis Villenueve, who will begin filming the second part in a few days, but it has also received an acclaimed RTS adaptation on Steam and has two more videos. The games are ongoing, one of which is a survival adventure from Funcom.
Beyond some conceptual art shared a few months ago, we know very little about the project. But one thing seems clear: the franchise has real fans behind its development. And through ArtStation, we were able to see an experiment done by two designers, with a dark Harkonnen as the lead character, as an experiment before we started working at Funcom.
This is the contribution of Rui Pereira, who designed it as a physical exercise in ZBrush some time before he started working for the company owned by Tencent. According to the author, it was mainly inspired by the 1984 movie by David Lynch, although it introduced newer concepts to modernize the character’s look. André Pires also participated in the design of this captain Iakin Nefud.

We don’t know if this will be the line for the character design of the survival video game, what seems clear is that its manager already comes from previous experience in the Atreides, Harkonnen and corporate worlds. Now it remains only to wait for the presentation of Funcom’s development, which has not yet been seen, although it was announced in February 2019 under the agreement with Legendary Entertainment.
Dune: Spice Wars began its journey in stores, which received mostly positive reviews on Steam. The real-time strategy video game just got its multiplayer feature in a new update along with other interesting news.
