While the newest Call of Duty game is Modern Warfare 2 in October, there likely won’t be a mainline Call of Duty 2023 game, which would make Call of Duty 2024 the next full game in the FPS game series. – and now we may have the first details on two multiplayer maps that could be the next Black Ops game.
The long-running mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone appeared to be in alpha testing in select regions back in May, with gamers digging through game files finding images and references to not only Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer maps, but also Treyarch cards. . . . Call of Duty 2024 too.
Alcohol @RealidadES (via Charlie Intel) has posted screenshots for Call of Duty 2024 showing what appear to be loading screens for two maps called Stealth and Plunder. Stealth appears to be an American military base with a stealth fighter, while Pillage shows the interior of an old European-looking building.
For Modern Warfare 2, several images show new maps titled Grand Prix, Oilfield, Museum, Farm 18, and codenamed: SABA. There are also Ground War maps called Hydro, Fishtown, and Sira that will be part of the Warzone 2 map. Hopefully all of this will be revealed sooner rather than later, given that MW2 is set to release in October.
As for how RealiityUK can tell the difference, each of the files pulled from the data has a codename at the beginning indicating which Call of Duty game it represents. “IW9” is Modern Warfare 2 (or “Infinity Ward 9”) and Call of Duty 2024 is “T10” is “Treyarch 10”. There are even files for Call of Duty DMZ, which is supposed to be an additional Escape from Tarkov mode. With any luck, RealiityUK will catch up to them before Activision hits them.
In other surprising news, maybe Call of Duty: Infinity Ward is also making some kind of open world RPG?
