Xbox wants you to play Quake 4 on PC. Wait to?

QuakeCon 2022 kicks off in August and is sure to bring lots of fun announcements and hopefully something to fit in with Quake Remaster 2021. It’s not the most loved FPS game, but it looks like Quake 4 Game Pass is out. road. the maps are the only thing that makes sense as Xbox Insider wants players to “see Quake 4”.

Quake 4 was developed by Raven Software and released in 2005, including digitally on the young Steam, where it has remained ever since. It’s also available on GOG. And yet, for some reason, Xbox wants people to “see” this 17-year-old game.

To confuse you even more, the preview also includes the multiplayer game Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, which recently came out for free on Steam. We’re assuming these games were made backwards compatible with Xbox consoles, except Microsoft said they aren’t anymore, and that’s definitely the PC version of Quake 4.

It doesn’t feel like a special remaster or update, though Quake 4 now runs natively at higher resolutions without modifying any files. The release of Game Pass seems like the most logical reason for Quake 4, though we still don’t know why Xbox needed a preview of the 17-year-old Doom 3 game.

go to install Xbox Insider Center through the Microsoft Store if you want to try Quake 4 for free. However, one can only guess how Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory fits into all of this.

Now that id Software has essentially finished Doom Eternal, it’s now working on a “long-running cult first-person shooter” – could it be Quake 5?
