Developer Poncle has released its initial patch notes for the Vampire Survivors 0.8.0 update, scheduled for release on July 7. The next update will include a new version of the fifth stage of the vampire game and the last planned relic in the game, an initial roadmap that introduces new gameplay mechanics.
In his original roadmap for the roguelike game, Poncle said he was referring to the five relics, which are items that, when collected, add permanent new functionality for all future games. The first of these is the Milky Way map, which when picked up activates the game map in the pause menu. Actually, more than five relics have already been added, but the following is the last one that was part of Poncle’s original plan for the game, and is said to add some new gameplay mechanics that should help freshen things up if you’re short. of ways to spice up your best Vampire Survivors builds. .
The update also teases a “new version of the fifth stage”, stating that it will revert to the previous version once it is successfully completed, as well as adding a new arcane (of the remaining six planned in the roadmap). In addition, another secondary relic is added that will function as a collection of sorts, giving players the ability to view enemy data from the main menu.
Additionally, a new setting for 0.8.0 allows players to always automatically choose a Coin Bag or Floor Chicken when leveling up after all gear has been upgraded. Visual reminders for exiled items are also added, and there’s an option to filter the unlocks received from the list to make it easier to see which ones you have left to get.
Patch 0.7.3, which added a furniture-throwing knight and a tree, completed the planned playlist of 24 playable characters. However, in the press release for version 0.7.3, Luca de Poncle said “Who am I kidding, there’s no way I’m going to add a few more before version 1.0”, so we can’t, we’re not done yet. .
