Naoki Yoshida recently announced introduction video from Final Fantasy 16 Posted late due to war in Ukraine. The developer touched on the subject in an interview with Dangeki Online, revealing that the battle sheds a different light on the content of the video.
Yoshida: “It was ready for release in March, but at the same time, Russia invaded Ukraine, destabilizing the global situation. Given the heavy themes that Final Fantasy 16 faced, I wondered if the second trailer released at the time would please players. SIE was equally concerned when I told SIE what I had heard, so I decided to postpone the release.“
Finally, the second trailer of Final Fantasy 16 was shown during State of Play in June. Among the contents, the new battle system and large-scale battles were shown.
The war in Ukraine also heavily impacted the world of video games, including the postponement of games like STALKER 2 and missed announcements like the 007 Goldeneye remake (for a lot of Russia-related content).
