Confidence It is an excellently recognized brand that over the years wanted to be characterized by the accessibility of its product catalog and in some cases succeeded in a simple task, which is not surprising for the quality / price ratio of its devices.
Well, the line play a game some time ago the Dutch company wireless mouse really interesting features and with low cost or €39.99 on Amazon: we tried it for a few days and here is ours Trust the GXT 980 Redex review.
Technicial Specifications
Trust GXT 980 Redex is a well-equipped gaming mouse Technicial Specifications, a minimal but pleasing design and a particularly unsophisticated RGB lighting system with the wheel, logo and backband that light up but barely noticeable when the device is held. Its form factor is symmetrical, but we are not talking about a versatile device due to the two extra buttons located on the left side, accessible only to right-handers.
With dimensions of 112 x 54 x 39 mm and a weight of 86 grams, Redex 2.4GHz RF wireless connection Via the USB transmitter (a microswitch that can be stored in the mouse shell by removing a magnetic panel) or with a 1.6-metre paracord cable, where it is necessary to recharge the internal battery, it guarantees autonomy of up to 50 hours, which is actually long time-consuming.
The components do not boast particularly advanced solutions, but they defend themselves well: change They are built to target 80 million clicks, the polling rate has a manual selector from 125 Hz to 1,000 Hz, the classic button to change the resolution placed under the wheel reaches 16,000 DPI and uses proprietary free software (but still not very mature and a lot of bugs). with) you can edit various settings and create profiles.
Unfortunately, during our testing we encountered a rather significant problem with the sensor: the mouse refused to work on our usual black leather mat, and this is the first time something like this has happened to us. Therefore we had to use a clear plastic mat.

Design
this design The Trust GXT 980 Redex uses traditional solutions, if not for a front cut that gives the device a little character, separating the two main buttons with a kind of glossy “gallery” crowned by a wheel. The same finish is found on the DPI selector and two extra side buttons, while three grades of rough plastics are used for the rest: flat keys, light palm, heavier side grip.
This special toggle makes the mouse stay stick to fingers and is firmly planted on the ground even during the most abrupt movements. Unfortunately, the wheel feel is particularly cheap, the rubber is of the standard type, but otherwise the structure is light plastic and it would have been necessary to somehow lower its weight to add rigidity.
this LED lightsAs noted, they don’t add much to the aesthetic: perhaps it was necessary to eliminate them in order to further reduce the price, because for a few euros it is already possible to buy more performance models.
user experience
Much like the NZXT Lift, review of which you can read here, we’ve used the GXT Redex for a few days in both “office” contexts and some games, and in all cases it performed well. Of course, we’re talking about an experience similar to that of many other cheaper mice, and that’s probably the product’s biggest limitation: it doesn’t have any weird features.
With Call of Duty: Warzone (by the way, did you read our exclusive post on Operation Monarch?), movement and aiming are fast and precise, with the PPE selector doing its job well when trying to hit from a distance on the fly. Apex Legends’ close skirmishes instead benefit from the stability of the device, which remains firmly in hand, as indicated even with rapid movement changes.
