The next Overwatch 2 beta date is just around the corner and it also includes new content. Activision Blizzard announced the release of the game official twitter page that the second beta of Overwatch 2 will launch on June 28. Details on registration and what to expect from the upcoming beta version of the FPS game will begin on June 16, so stay tuned for more information soon.
Overwatch 2’s second beta will be available on PC as before, and also on consoles for the first time, though it’s not yet known if it will support cross-play. It will, however, include the recently announced Junker Queen, first seen at the Xbox Bethesda launch event, as well as a new map. Of course, it will likely still include the maps we already know, including Monte Carlo, Toronto, and Rome.
Blizzard will also introduce Overwatch 2 on June 16, so it’s likely we’ll get our first look at the new map and maybe even see the Junker Queen in action. So far, we’ve only seen an admittedly very good cinematic trailer where he takes on Junker King Howl in an effort to overthrow him for the first time in a dozen years.
Check out the trailer below.
Blizzard also announced during the Xbox demo that Overwatch 2 is coming to Early Access on October 4, so it won’t be long.
Please note that since these betas are still in development, characters and abilities may work differently than their early access versions. Zenyatta, for example, probably won’t be able to launch all of her enemies into the stratosphere like she did in the first beta, though we’d expect to see some additional buffs for support characters as well.
The first Overwatch 2 beta introduced Blizzard’s significant changes to the 5v5 engagement and emphasis on tanks in the game, but as a result, support characters became almost useless.
If you’re still following Overwatch 2, check out all the maps we know about and the characters you should train with first when the beta releases.
