The new trailer for STALKER 2 is a huge dose of nostalgia for fans of the original FPS survival game. Enter the Zone takes us on a bumpy ride through the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone in the back of a high-speed military truck, just as the first game in the series began in 2007.

Developer GSC Game World is based in Kyiv, Ukraine, and has experienced severe disruption due to the ongoing Russian invasion of the country. The latest developer diary includes a video of various GSC employees talking about their experiences since the start of the war, with one developer living down the hall and another still waiting to hear from family members in Mariupol.

Au cours de l’invasion, according to GSC, le développement de STALKER 2 “est devenu encore más important et emblématique” pour le studio, et une partie de la détermination des développeurs peut être entendue dans la voix off qui peut être understand dans le nouveau trailer. “Tell me, do you want our descendants to remember us as cowards?” the character asks rhetorically. Or those who have dared to move towards a new and better humanity?

Here’s a new trailer showing the unconscious figure on a difficult and fateful journey through the Zone in the back of a truck.

STALKER 2’s release date has been pushed back to 2023, but GSC Game World says that despite the difficulties created by the invasion, they are determined to see this project through to completion. In the meantime, the developers are urging fans to support fundraising efforts for Ukraine.
