Resident Evil Updates Can’t Be Undone And Fans Aren’t Happy

As revealed during the Capcom Showcase, current-gen Resident Evil updates have been released on Steam for three of the best PC horror games: Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 Biohazard. However, several fans are upset that these next-gen Resident Evil updates force players to use the newer versions, and more appear to be breaking mods and lighting.

Capcom has released PC graphics updates for three of its latest Resident Evil games, with the exception of Resident Evil Village, which is getting an update and new DLC expansion in October. The first annoyance with the updates is that Capcom has increased the minimum specs for all three games: Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7.

However, there are a number of details that fans are unhappy with. DirectX 12 is now enforced, so if you’ve barely played these games before, you’ll find it particularly difficult now, which also excludes pre-Windows 10 PCs from compatibility. Rays is more accurate, but it can remove the weird atmosphere of the previous pre-cooked lighting.

Also, the new update seems to be breaking a number of major mods like Resident Evil VR mods. While modders may update them to compensate for this, it only adds to the disappointment that Capcom completely replaced the original versions of these games instead of making them an optional update.

Updates for Resident Evil are now available, and if you don’t want to receive them, you’ll need to disable automatic updates in the Steam properties of each game. Of course, if you reinstall, the newer versions will be installed. aware.

In the top Capcom Showcase news, a demo of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is coming, along with a closed Exoprimal online test for a dino bait game that isn’t Dino Crisis (sigh).
